Comments: A young!Clow fic. I am in love. It deals very well with how Clow must have been like as a child. Clow really is one of the more fascinating characters.

Comments: Over the past couple days, I’ve rapidly become very cynical about the state of most Bleach fanfics. The thing that makes the Bleach characters interesting is that they manage to surpass the fairly bland character types you tend to see. In most Bleach fanfics I’ve seen, the authors seem to be trying to ignore the quirks that make the characters interesting to me. This does a pretty decent job of capturing Rukia’s character in a way that I like. I can already tell I’m going to be reading fics that pair Rukia up with anyone and everyone. Well, maybe not Kon. Unless it’s funny.

Comments: Madamhydra is an author I’ve been reading since…1999? I’m lousy at keeping track. When she moved into the Yami no Matsuei fandom while I was still actively searching out fics, I pretty much did hosannas of joy. And this is a fic that fits my tastes surprisingly well. I have a deep-seated fondness of watching people being politely ripped apart verbally. Usually in fiction. And this is Tatsumi, and he rips people apart so very well.

Comments: Much darker than what I’ve been reccing lately. But I frequently bemoan the lack of really strong women in the fics I read. Admittedly, it probably helps if there’s a strong woman in canon. But even when there is, half the time people butcher their characters. *coughHo!mionecough* But this Leia is strong and sensual and determined, even if now she’s ambitious and ruthless. And you know what? I like her like this.

Comments: This is an interesting look at Yukimura’s relationship with Jackal. I don’t see many fics that deal with Yukimura’s interaction with the doubles members and this is well-written. I have some doubts about this fic (Okay, I’ll accept that people are willing to beat Jackal up because he’s a junior high kid who can beat college kids easily. What I have more problems with is that he’ll keep going back there to play knowing that he’ll get beat up. I dislike stupidity.) But I really enjoyed the fic despite that. Actually, I thought I’d recced this fic already, until I went through the PoT section and realized that I hadn’t. Oops.

Comments: I have an utterly irrational fondness for fics that have Seishirou and Subaru adopting Kamui as their kid. I know it’s irrational. Comments: This is just what I felt like reading at the moment. It’s soft, slightly angsty, but not the type that makes me want to slap characters upside the head. I like this interaction between Yukimura and Sanada:

“I didn’t,” Genichirou said, returning his attention to the weeds.

“Neither did I.”
It’s just - it’s a well done fic. And why am I reccing when I have two papers, a midterm, and some random homework due tomorrow? Wah.

Comments: This is interesting. I’m not quite sure how much I like the concept - while I love cracked out concepts, I tend to prefer them if they’re funny rather than serious. But this is nicely done and it’s an interesting view of Renji.

Pairings: Maybe a little Sanada/Niou, but really gen I’d say.

Summary: Sanada gets what he wants. And what he wants is for Niou to join Rikkaidai’s tennis club.
Comments: I wasn’t expecting to like this, because Sanada and Niou interaction is rarely my favorite. But this is well done, and I could see the canon characters in the fic. Many of the fics I read about Sanada tend to wimpify him slightly in comparison to the very strong Yukimura I prefer, and it’s nice seeing a very driven Sanada.
