The Babysitter
Characters/Pairings: Yukimura, Sanada, OCs
Warnings: None
Summary: Yukimura’s used to babysitting.
Comments: I like outsider POVs and this is a nicely done one about how Yukimura controls his team. And other people. Antique_land is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors.
One-shot, complete.
Side Effects: Heiwa Version
Characters/Pairings: Mainly Kakashi/Iruka. Apparently Sasuke/Naruto later.
Warnings: Sex. Gay sex. And possibly more warnings in the future. But it’s NC-17, so know what you’re getting into.
Summary: Iruka is a surprisingly horny drunk.
Comments: You know, I’m beginning to see the appeal of the Kakashi/Iruka pairing. At first, it boggled the hell out of me. Now, I’m beginning to like it. In this, Iruka’s a tad more forward than usual, but to be fair, I’m surprised he isn’t dead from alcohol poisoning. I’m not a hundred percent sure about this rec, but it definitely has potential. It’s well written, and I was suitably entertained by the teachers’ party. And I like the idea of Iruka having a bit of a wild side - especially considering he was an orphen and did say that he acted much like Naruto as a kid.
Currently one chapter up. The author says she has 15 chapters edited, and that she’ll be posting them once a week, so expect a lot more to come. Probably shan’t bother reviewing them, though.
Tension, Before
Tides
Characters/Pairings: Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, heading towards a threesome.
Warnings: Sasuke spoilers. Sadly, I have no idea when the major Sasuke spoilers take place in anime or manga, so I can’t tell you what episodes they’re about.
Summary: When Sasuke is reunited with his friends after three long years apart, they must flee Konoha in order for Sasuke to achieve his vengeance.
Comments: I love love love the characterizations in this. The author manages to deal, I think realistically, what sort of problems Sasuke might have with adjusting back to being with the three. And you know, I can picture Naruto and Sakura abandoning Konoha for Sasuke’s sake. And the three of them adjusting to living together all by themselves away from everyone they’ve ever known is interesting to read. Actually, the fic it really reminds me of is Discoveries in the Fruits Basket fandom. I just wish I could remember if I’ve recced that yet.
Multi-chapter, incomplete.
Telling Stories
Characters/Pairing: Fai/Kurogane, Mokona
Warnings: None
Summary: Fai and Kurogane tell a story of a cursed mage and a reluctant rescuer to a group of children.
Comments: You know, I went into this just not in the mood for Tsubasa fics, but not really wanting to go to the bother of looking some more for fic. But reading this - I enjoyed it. Fai and Kurogane’s bickering is wonderfully in character, and it’s a nice development of their relationship and what Fai could plausibly feel. Fai’s hard to characterize correctly, I’ve noticed, and this Fai feels right. As does Kurogane. And Mokona’s comments are as always, entertaining.
One-shot, complete.
Tangled Triangle
CHaracters/Pairing: Sasuke POV, reflecting on Naruto and Sakura. Implied Naruto/Sakura, Naruto/Sasuke, and Sakura/Sasuke. I’m calling threesome.
Warnings: Spoilers for the usual shit.
Summary: Sasuke discovers a new side to Sakura.
Comments: This strikes me as oddly true somehow - that Sasuke would be more attracted to Inner!Sakura than Sakura. So when she’s acting like Inner!Sakura, he starts understanding why Naruto loves her. And I love fics where the three are all kind of tangled up in a Sakura loves Sasuke loves Naruto loves Sakura and Sasuke, and everyone loves everyone else to some degree, but it’s still so confusing. It’s odd. I’m only on ep. 37 in Naruto, and I can see a hell of a lot more to like about Sasuke and Naruto than I do in Sakura, but I also see a lot of untapped potential in her, if she’d just grow up a bit more. It’s frustrating as all hell. And this fic seems to tap into that for me, because I think Inner!Sakura has potential.
…And I like multiple personalities.
One-shot, complete.

Collected drabbles
Sum
Characters/Pairings: Naruto/Sakura/Sasuke threesome! With plot! Yes!
Warnings: Sex in the stories specifically rated as NC-17. Yaoi and het.
Summary: After a wild night, Team 7 faces the village’s fears of the child of Kyuubi as the three struggle to change their relationship from friendship to love.
Comments: THis is just amazingly well done. It isn’t just my weakness for threesomes, nor is it my weakness for threesomes with an actual, honest-to-god plot! (Yay!) Though I’ll admit that it does help. But all of them are excellently characterized. She didn’t make the mistake of ironing out Sasuke’s awkwardness, or Sakura’s occasional selfishness and just…ordinariness compared to the two of them, or the problems that Kyuubi could cause. It’s just - it’s wonderfully done and hell, I even liked the PWPs in the series, and I hate PWPs as a general rule of thumb.
One complete multi-chapter, one incomplete multi-chapter, and assorted one-shots and drabbles.
Outclassed
Characters/Pairings: Kakashi/Iruka
Warnings: Kakashi has a dirty mind. Some sexual implications, but not too bad.
Summary: When Kakashi realizes that he has a crush (yes, indubitably a crush) on Iruka, he reacts in the same type of way one would expect an emotionally-stunted jounin-level ninja to react. Namely, by stalking him.
Comments: This is just a fun story. It’s cute and amusing as all hell, and the scenes with Gai in them are absolutely cracktastic. (I originally typed Fai instead of Gai. …Any crossover bunnies I get from that, I am going to burn). The dynamic between them is just entertaining as all hell, and I was just so very amused by the entire thing.
Multi-chapter, incomplete.
The Games We Play
Characters/Pairings: …Fuji and Yuuta interaction, semi-implied incest, Mizuki references
Warnings: Fuji deserves a warning all of his own on this one. Such a creative little sadist.
Summary: When Fuji gets addicted to Sims…
Comments: Fuji is an evil, evil, demented little man. Yes, he is. That’s probably why I’m so amused by him though. And poor, poor Yuuta. I don’t want to give away the joke, so I’m not quite sure on what to say.
Note: Finals are over, so expect me to get back to reccing now. Yay. Er, expect a lot of Naruto recs in the next couple of days. Damn you, campfuckudie! . Not only has it addicted me to Naruto, I can’t. Stop. Commenting there. I’m sarraceniaceae there, if you’re wondering.
Janken
PDA
Pairings: Ichigo/Ishida/Chad. Threesome.
Warnings: Threesome
Summary: The story of the three’s relationship.
Comments: This is nicely written. Part of the reason I tend to like threesomes is because in my experience, the less popular orientations tend to be better written. In slash fandoms, the het has a higher proportion of better writing, while in het fandoms vice versa. And threesomes are, of course, incredibly rare.
But, anyway, back to the rec. It’s well written. And the PDA sequel is hilarious. The girls’ assumptions about about Ichigo’s and Ishida’s and Chad’s relationship cracked me up. And what particularly amused me was the way Rukia was cracking up silently in the background while the girls were pounding him with questions, and Ichigo was just going “…Bitch” at her.
Oddly, this wasn’t a threesome I thought I’d like. I didn’t read it at first because I can see Ichigo/Ishida. But Chad’s always been a very nonsexual character to me. (…Besides when I was ogling him when he was shirtless. Shut up). I just had a really hard time picturing him in a relationship with the two. I love Chad and Ichigo’s friendship, but I just couldn’t see them as having a relationship. Now, I can.
Multiple chapters, complete. May be an ongoing series of connected stories, though.
Untitled
Characters/Pairings: Rukia, Renji, Ichigo
Warnings: None
Summary: When Renji decides to take a vacation to the human world, Ichigo devoutly wishes to be elsewhere.
Comments: Damn tease. The link I clicked on had Ichigo/Rukia/Renji and you know how I react to threesomes. *coughs* Anyway, this is funny. Renji reacting to all the new human stuff, and Rukia is all “Yes, dear. I know.” Especially since I was just watching her problems with the juice box. XD And Ichigo’s ending line kills me.
One-shot, probably complete.
Twelve
Characters/Pairings: Sakura/Sasuke, but mainly just focused on Sakura
Warnings: None
Spoilers: For chapter 258.
Summary: When you’re twelve, adults think that what you do doesn’t matter.
Comments: Damn you, shipping_manifesto! This is the second time I’ve started reading Naruto fics because of that community. I know nothing about Naruto but what I have found in shipping_manifesto essays and fics. And this is a nicely done fic. It balances between making Sakura a twelve year old girl, and dealing with the grimmer realities of being a ninja. It’s very well written, and it makes me like a twelve year old girl with a crush on the popular boy. My favorite thing about graduating from junior high is that I would no longer have to listen to my classmates babble about their crushes. I hate, loathe, and despise little girl crushes. And this still makes me like Sakura.
One-shot, complete.
Multiple drabbles
Characters/Pairings: Fye/Ashura; Hatori, Shigure, Ayame; Kurogane/Fye; Syaoran/Yukito (unrequited), Sakura/Yukito (unrequited)
Warnings: None
Summary: Not doing a summary for four drabbles. No way. Nuh uh.
Comments: Katharos is an excellent author, and I love all her drabbles. Her angst is subtle and gorgeous, her humor is hilarious, and her general/romance stuff is insightful. What more could you want? (Besides a million dollars and an anime character of your choice, of course.)
Four drabbles, complete.
That Same Old Song
Characters/Pairings: Yuuko, Eriol
Warnings: None
Summary: Yuuko knows that Eriol isn’t quite Clow.
Comments: Very nicely done. It had occurred to me to wonder how the two of them would interact, and this is just so very much in canon. Both of them are characterized just right - evil, snarky, and manipulative, but with real and genuine feelings underneath. And seeing how Yuuko felt at meeting the reincarnation of her old friend - it’s just the way the author captures how she’d feel about it so well.
Notes: I am in the middle of the end of year rush. My keyboard is broken. And I am completely and utterly addicted to campfuckudie on livejournal. THose are my excuses for not updating recently, if you’re interested.
One-shot, complete.
20 Themes
Characters/Pairings: Every character at some point. Predominant pairings are Yuuri/Wolfram, and Conrad/Yozak. Oh, and Gwendal/Gunter
Warnings: Yaoi
Spoilers: The Murata Spoiler. If you don’t know and care, don’t click.
Summary: A series of 20 KKM drabbles for a 20 themes challenge
Comments: Does it occasionally feel to anyone else that variations of the 20 themes, 30 kisses, etc. are taking over livejournal? That aside, these drabbles are nicely done. They feel a lot like the series. Except for the pairings, but that’s just because I’m a ConYuu fangirl. And a Murata/Yozak fangirl. So both of my pairings are doomed in this. But it’s still well-written and I enjoyed it.
One-shot, complete
Slytherin Rising
Characters/Pairings: Entire cast of major HP characters, plus a large cast of OCs. Not getting into the pairings, because I get the feeling that by the end of the 8th (planned) book, very few of the pairings are going to be the same as they currently are.
Warnings: Rape and sexual themes from the third story onwards. Also, OCs dominate the story. They’re well-written OCs, I think, but…yeah. It’s also a Slytherin-is-the-cool-house fic, though the author keeps the influence of fanon!Draco on her characterization of Draco down to a dull roar.
Summary: Slytherin House needs a makeover. An epic attempt to redeem Slytherin’s good name.
Comments: First off, I’ll warn you ahead of time. The first 2 books just aren’t that good. The author learned, though, andfrom the 3rd book onwards, the story is excellently written. She rewrote the first four chapters of the first book though, so you can get a taste of her current writing style from that.
That aside, why do I like these books? I love, worship, and adore epic length fics. Nowadays, with the smaller fandoms I’m in, I don’t get them often. But I still love them. And by the third book, these are very well-written and enjoyable.
I will admit that the OCs dominate the story. As the author points out, if you want to redeem Slytherin, it’s not like there’s a lot of characters to work from in the books. And while I do have reservations over the occasional Mary Sue tendencies, the author does a nice job of keeping Deanna and Luella human. And those two are the ones most likely to be Mary Sues, since they’re the focus of the story. And this is just one of those fics that I come back to every 6 months or so when all my current fandoms are slow, and reread.
Multiple novels. Books 1-3 complete, Book 4 currently being worked on. 8 books are planned.
Memories in Area 78
Characters/Pairings: Byakuya, Rukia.
Warnings: None
Spoilers: For Rukia’s background.
Summary: Byakuya meets Rukia.
Comments: I get the feeling that Byakuya and Rukia interaction fics are going to become one of my favorite genres of Bleach fics. Byakuya puzzles me more than any other character in Bleach, and I welcome the chance to see how other people interpret his character. This is a nicely done fic that I rather enjoyed.
One-shot, complete.
Lay Me Down
Characters/Pairings: Renji/Rukia
Warnings: Het sex.
Summary: Long after Bleach, Renji and Rukia celebrate their promotions.
Comments: I love Moonsheen’s work, really I do. She gets that edge to Rukia and Renji’s relationship, the one that says “We’re comfortable with each other. And we’re snarky and bitchy to each other to boot.” I adore that about them.
One-shot, complete.
Excessive Chain
Characters/Pairings: Slight Ichigo/Rukia
Warnings: Angst
Spoilers: Post-Soul Society arc, spoilers for everything up to the current manga chapters. (I think. Sadly, I have only read the first 6 manga, so I’m not up on the current Bleach manga)
Summary: After they return from Soul Society, Rukia realizes she has lost something.
Comments: Very nicely done fic. Rukia’s a complex character, and watching her adjust to the possibility of having to effectively become human is fascinating. The characterization of both her and Ichigo is very well done, and it’s just a good read.
Notes: Damn, I’m reccing a lot today.
One-shot, complete.
Finding the Way Home
Characters/Pairings: Hawkeye/Martyr/Winry threesome. W00t.
Warnings: Graphic lesbian threesome
Summary: A gratuitous lesbian threesome between three of the hottest women in FMA.
Comments: I always complain that there isn’t enough femslash in FMA, and then I find this. I feel like it’s my birthday. And it’s written by Harukami, so you know it’s well-written.
One-shot, complete
A Nest of Snakes
Characters/Pairings: Al-centric
Warnings: Post-series. Mildly disturbing content. But considering that it’s Al dreaming about actual event in the series, I’m not sure that’s a big deal.
Spoilers: For the entire series
Summary: After the series ends, Al dreams of snakes.
Comments: WHile watching the original series, I originally felt my stomach actually twist when (highlight for spoilers) Pride killed Martel. It just…horrified me. That in mind, Harukami’s done her usual excellent job of explicating Al’s feeling on that, even after he forgets.
Notes: I’ve been considering switching over from simply mentioning pairing to characters and/or pairings. Consider me to have started mentioning both. With the amount of gen I like, it should be helpful.
One-shot, complete
