Comments: A three drabbles that just do a wonderful job of framing the Utena/Anthy relationship in such a way that they’re kind of in the state they were at the end of the tv series - technically not paired, but definitely meaning a hell of a lot more to each other than just about any other pair of people I can think of. And it’s just nicely, nicely written.

Comments: This just made me melt with the cuteness. “It’s impossible to hear anything, think anything, feel anything with his partner’s calloused fingers pressed right over the flesh and bone that houses the Serpent Bearer and touching him like he’s breakable when he’s really a snake in human form, with skin that if you actually looked at it you could almost see the scales.” And then the mood breaks, and it’s back to Ban and Ginji being the lovable dorks they are, and it’s just cute and sweet and makes me just go aw at them.

Summary: Hasukawa is surrounded by people whose number one joy in life is to torture him?
Comments: This? Is so much in character that I just felt the need to fangirl it. It’s a little short for my taste, but the way everyone just gangs up on Hasukawa never fails to amuse me.

Summary: On a day that Ginji guilts Ban into quitting smoking, of course nothing goes right.
Comments: You know, what I tend to want out of a GetBackers fic is this. It’s very much in the original feel of the series - Ban and Ginji are dorks, Akabane’s more than vaguely creepy, and Paul, Hevn, and Natsumi are in as support. Basically. I have a soft spot for fics that actually, you know, have Ban and Ginji go on a retrieval. Preferably ones where it doesn’t go incredibly dark. And ones with Mary Sues need to be burned. But this is just a nice, cute little retrieval fic.

Comments: Unusually, the author did an excellent job of pairing an almost-OC (Is Zacharias Smith ever given an actual personality in the books? Because if so, I missed it) with Draco. The cast of background characters is amusingly batshit insane, and I have a major soft spot for Hufflepuff fics. Especially well-done Hufflepuff fics.

Draco Malfoy, the Amazing Bouncing… Rat?

Summary: When Draco is turned into a white rat and adopted by the Gryffindors, he thinks that Murphy has already done his worst. Boy, is he ever wrong.
Comments: Alright, I admit it. I sometimes like fanon!Draco. He can be interesting when well done, and this is hilarious. Draco is snarky, cynical, and entirely obsessed with sex, coffee, and his hair, in no particular order, and that’s what entertains me. As long as I’m not expecting IC!Draco (and when am I ever expecting IC!Draco in the Harry Potter fandom?) I am thoroughly amused and entertained.

A Distinctly Different Manner of Finding Prince Charming

Warnings: Their relationship doesn’t quite start until after McGonagall’s graduated from Hogwarts, but some have issues with any form of teacher/student relationships.
Summary: When a champion duellist joins the faculty of Hogwarts, 5th year Minerva McGonagall is determined to be unimpressed. She didn’t expect him to be earnest, however.
Comments: THis just had me going “Aw…” at them. Minerva is interesting as teenager, and I liked the third party narrative in this, in the person of Minerva’s best friend Viven. 10 points to whoever figures out who she is before the end. (Obviously, I’m not in the HP fandom often enough to remember all the characters. *sigh*

Summary: Hinata grows up, knowing that she is weak. But she’d like to be strong.
Comments: Hinata is one of those characters who just caught my interest in the series. She comes off as boring, at first, but she’s a very strong person, mentally. Naruto tends to have the obviously strong people be mentally weak, while the losers overpass them, mentally and physically. But Hinata’s not physically strong. To me, it would almost be removing the point of her character if she became one of the ridiculously overpowered characters. What she is, is mentally strong. And I like her like that.

Comments: My love for Isshin is unending. The crack is overflowing. And I was cracking up the entire time I was reading this. There is almost no way any author can go wrong with an Isshin fic. Yes.

Comments: I still can’t quite bring myself to go back to DN after chapter 58 and continue reading, but god, Harukami writes Near and Mello beautifully. These are two very fucked up teenagers, with a very untraditional upbringing and a very complex relationship, and dear god I want to hug them and tell them that they don’t have to be fucked up. And god, I love her Mello. (Not that I’m obsessively stalking her Mello at CFUD *cough* The DN cast there is great. So’s the Bleach, and the Allen from D.Greyman forced me to download and read that series, and the Anthy is magnificent and I’ll stop fangirling now befoer I get totally sidetracked). Oddly, by far my favorite fic in the series is “And the Truth Comes Out”. With no sex whatsoever. But the way they work together perfectly even while they’re completely misunderstanding each other, and the total and utter fucked-upness of it all is sheer love.

Comments: This is just the most wonderfully perfect, twisted version of chapter 58 ever. The histrionics, the impromptu slash, the accidental heart attacks - what else could a poor crack fan desire?

Summary: Inspired by The 213 Things Skippy Is No Longer Allowed To Do In The US Army. If you haven’t read that, go read it. You don’t need to understand it to understand the fic, but it is hilarious nonetheless.
Comments: A list of things that no one is allowed to do. Including “6. The captain of the 6th Division is named Byakuya, not Sweet Cheeks, Bukkake, Prissy McPrissPriss, or Honeybuns. I am no longer allowed to call him any of these names, as the 4th division has flatly refused to treat any more grave injuries I incur from the use of these names.” How could I not love it?

Comments: Wow. This is one of the best fics I’ve seen dealing directly with the frustration that Yukimura - a player on par with Tezuka - must feel at no longer being able to play to his standards. THe frustration practically seethes out of the fic, even while Yukimura retains a facade of strength to reassure his team and keep up his morale. It’s just very nicely done.

Summary: Niou is Yagyuu is Niou. But Niou’s left Japan, and has spent the last several years wandering the world. He returns when he finds out that Yagyuu’s getting married. Now what?
Comments: Originally, the characters that drew me into Rikkai-fangirling were Yagyuu and Niou. I kind of lost interest in them for a while, but here, this is everything I love about them. There angsty, dysfunctional, and are still confused about their identities years after they stopped switching, and oh my god, this is so good. And the way Yukimura kept meddling didn’t exactly hurt, but oh, the love I have for Yagyuu and Niou right now.
Notes: If I’m not reccing, it’s probably either because I’m spending all my time at Campfuckudie or becaues I’m over-working. If you haven’t visited campfuckudie, you are missing out. My love for the entire casts of Death Note, Bleach, and Utena know no bounds. And the Allen Walker player is forcing me to download and read the scanlations of D Gray-man.

Comments: I don’t know. I liked this fic, I enjoyed it, but somehow it lacked…spark? It was solid, and enjoyable, but it didn’t really captivate me. Still, I rather like the Rikkai dynamics in this.

Afterwards, that tendency is not going to disappear immediately and Rukia’s going to have to deal with it. And I love the way she deals with it. XD
