Hiatus

Due to work deadlines and stress, Faineant will be on hiatus until at least next Monday. Possibly longer, depending on whether I manage to meet my deadline or not. Sorry.

Edited Monday: Sorry, it’ll be a few more days. I’m right in the last stages of a project I’ve been working on for over a year now, so basically my mind’s being eaten by it. Also, I have a surprise for Faineant that I’ll (hopefully) be unveiling when the hiatus breaks. Assuming nothing goes wrong. (Which considering how my day went today, don’t get your hopes up. Sheesh.)

Like everyone who’s ever had a website, I occasionally glance at my referrers. And sometimes there are search terms used to find my website that make me weep and contemplate the inevitable downfall of humanity. Really, I’m not sure which is worse: knowing that people search for some of these things, or knowing that my website is found while searching for it. Think about it. Would you want a website that shows up in the search results for strawberry premature ejaculation?

In GW, however, shoving a mouse up the ass of a character means that they’re your favorite. For all I know, death fics mean you care.

Am I missing something here? Or is removing hentai from the search results kind of missing the entire point of tentacle yaoi fanfiction?

Also, I have a question for anyone reading this. Which do you prefer, a site that updates once or twice a day, or a site that updates irregularly but with more fics with each update?

What I usually try to do, when I hit a rush of reccing a lot of fics in a short period of time, is postdate them so they’ll be posted at preset times over the next week or so. This is mainly so when I go through dry periods where I’m not seeing any fic that appeals to me, I still have something posted. The question is, would you prefer it if I just posted everything as I got it? Or would you rather I set it up so there’s something going up pretty much every day? I ask because I’m farther ahead than I’ve been since I figured out how to do this, and feel kind of guilty that I have 13 days worth of fics hidden in my to be posted section. So, what do you guys think?

Just so you know, I am in the process of buying myself a domain and some webspace. Because I am a control freak who wants to do more with this blog than I can on a free host. And I want to experiment with some other stuff. So this blog will shortly be moving. Now I can spend my time at home swearing at the computer just as much as I do at work!

I tend to use slash and yaoi interchangeably, and I don’t use shonen ai. Yes, I do know that the meanings are subtly different, but they’re also subtly different depending on who you’re talking too, and I don’t care. I do tend to use yuri instead of femslash, but I doubt that’ll come up much considering the tragic scarcity of well written yuri. (Though if anyone knows any good Winry/Sciezka yuri, I will love you forever if you tell me).

This is a blog for me to rec fics. Most are going to be anime, but I will rec the occasional completely random fic. At the moment, I’m not quite sure how it’s going to turn out, but I’ll see how it works. I’m sick of losing all my bookmarks to some random freak accident.
