Comments: Heh. I adore well-done Matsumoto Hitsugaya relationship fics, and this is one of the good ones. I’ll admit that I rolled my eyes a bit at the thing about Matsumoto’s outfit being like that because she’s too cheap to get a custom fit, but that’s because I’m perhaps oversensitive to issues involving busty women trying to find clothes. And sorry, but Matsumoto’s outfit in the series would probably have to be custom made, thus negating the whole point of that paragraph.
But that’s me nitpicking on a very minor detail, and the characterization in this are spot on and incredibly fun. And it’s Matsumoto dealing with her occasional tendency to run into Hitsugaya breasts-first. (Incidentally, why have I not found any yaoi fics with Hitsugaya bitching about having Matsumoto as his vice captain utterly inured him to breasts and probably turned him gay? Because that could be funny.)
…And I’m obviously not going to get around to reviewing this fic rather than digressing into sidenotes, so forget it.

Comments: I’m not reccing this solely for the Patricia C. Wrede injoke, although that helps. It’s also because it’s Orihime mopping up Mayuri. I mean, how can I not love this?

Comments: Now that the name of Rukia’s sword and its release has been revealed, there’s been an influx of fics about them. And my reaction may be summed up thusly: *_* This is a nice look at a possibility of what Sodeno Shirayuki and Rukia’s relationship might be like, and I thought that Sodeno Shirayuki’s indignation at Ichigo for stealing Rukia’s powers was nicely, nicely done.

Summary: Ikkaku is a devoted, stubborn blockhead in love. Nemu’s a reserved, frightened woman equally in love.
Comments: Holy shit, this is good. It takes the time necessary to develop any relationship that isn’t obvious from canon. Nemu and Ikkaku’s relationship is beautifully developed. Mayuri’s…a little undeveloped, but god do I want to kill him nonetheless. And Ikkaku’s just the perfect shounen retard that I find oddly cute even as I want to hit them over the head until they learn to think, dammit. And watching Nemu’s slow growth is just wonderful. And the latest story had me grinning like a maniac.
Note: If I never typo Ikkaku’s name and Bukkaku, it will still be too short a time. Fingers, I hate you.

No, not like that, you pervertscough* It’s just well-done.

Comments: This is nicely, nicely done. It’s amazingly well-characterized, with Rukia the perfect balance of pride and guilt (you know, I didn’t realize just how fucked in the head Rukia was until the Soul Society arc. Really, I kind of find it fun.) And it’s just…the reconciliation given in the series was good, don’t get me wrong. But this fleshes it out and makes it more real. And it’s just…everything that I would want out of a Shiba family and Rukia get to know each other better post-SS arc that I would want.

Comments: I love the way these two interact. They’re just immensely fun, and balanced in a way I rarely see. (Bleach absolutely sucks for my rep as a yaoi fangirl. I have no real slash OTPs, and twenty million het ones. On the other hand, the Bleach fandom as a whole is unusually good at producing damn good het fics, so I don’t really mind.)

Comments: This is just beautifully, beautifully written. It just makes me hurt for both Byakuya and Rukia, and makes the evolution of Byakuya’s feelings for Rukia even better. I’m actually not much of a Byakuya fan, but I can’t help but sympathize with him in this.
