Comments: The first one is just… it works so, so much for me. Because this is how Roxas must have felt watching Axel *spoiler* and I just wrote out five sentences of gushing that I had to delete for spoilers. So. It’s good and I loved the intensity of the emotions. The second drabble, I didn’t like quite as much as the first, but oh my god Sora is adorable. And I can totally totally see them doing this.

Comments: Moonsheen does an amazing, amazing job of capturing the not-quite-human aspect of the Nobodies. And her characterization of Axel in particular, but really all of them, is just wonderful. And watching Naminé question Axel about his role in the events of Chain of Memories is just really interesting. I had to reread it once to understand, but I think that’s because I’m not familiar with novel canon, which this is partially based off of.

Comments: Okay, shorter than I usually like to rec, but I absolutely cracked up at this. Because the key to writing the good crack is to make it vaguely plausible, and this is something I can so totally see happening. Which ups the humor level by infinity.

Summary: Axel and philosophy and being a Nobody.
Comments: The first time I read through it, I didn’t particularly like it. I reread it though, because I felt that I missed something the first time, and everything just clicked into place. It’s a brilliantly characterized fic about Axel, mainly, and the nature of Nobodies. Oddly, I like Axel studying philosophy, because to me, the logical thing to do after becoming a Nobody would be to read philosophers about what the nature of the human heart is. And I really like the way Axel and Roxas’ relationship is written, because it’s more sharp-edged and dangerous than usual. And as much as I am a shameless fluff hor, this feels like a more realistic depiction considering the nature of the relationship.

Summary: Organization XIII meets XIII. Axel is intrigued.
Comments: I like the way the author portrays the Organization. I like the darkness and ruthlessness, while the author maintains the sheer dorkiness that caught my attention to the Organization in the first place. (Although the dorkiness level isn’t really quite as high as I’d like.) I love Larxene in this, especially, but then I’m rapidly falling for Larxene in a major way.

Largely because of authors like this, who write about him so nicely that I just kind of have to like him. Also, cue cards are always funny.

Comments: Just a short humor fic that actually managed to be funny. Pengiesama was one of my favorite humor authors in the Prince of Tennis fandom, too, just because she has that ability to write something one short step above farce in such a way that it’s actually funny. And damnit, that’s rare.

And just, I’m already getting to the point where I don’t read Axel/Roxas fics unless I know the author elsewhere because I’m getting really amazingly sick of seeing wangst, but this just made me grin and want to read every single Axel/Roxas fic that shows up on my flist.

And it’s just- I hadn’t seen any sort of fic that really just looked at Dusks’ relationship with their masters before, and I really found it interesting.
