sweet Delight
Characters/Pairings: D, Leon, Willy, Charlie, rest of cast mentioned
Warnings: None
Summary: Count D gets one of the golden tickets
Comments: This is just such a brilliant concept executed so very well that I don’t really know what to say.
One-shot, complete.

Damnation
Characters/Pairings: D, Desire
Warnings: None
Summary: Desire comes to visit his least favorite great-grandchild
Comments: Wow. I don’t believe I hadn’t recced this already - it’s one of the very few Petshop of Horror fics that get it right. Desire is perfectly done, and his and D’s conversation is just wow. It’s one of those fics that I like so much I just don’t quite know what to say.
One-shot, complete.

Fullmetal Alchemist, XXXHolic, Prince of Tennis, Miscellaneous, Fruits Basket, Petshop of HorrorsFebruary 25, 2006 8:14 pm

Untitled
Characters/Pairings: Yuuko appears in all. And, separated by comma if they appear within the same drabble, separated by semi-colon if they appear in the next drabble, are: Dumbledore; Yuki; Hanajima; Watanuki, Ed (by implication), Ryoma (by implication), D (by implication)
Warnings: None
Summary: 7 drabbles here, five of which I rec. (The other two I don’t even know the bloody series they’re from, but I’ll assume they’re good if you know what they are.)
Comments: Yes, this is further evidence that xxxHolic can be crossed over with anything well. And some of the interactions are just amazingly well done. My favorite line was “She’s a tall woman, with an impressive rack, but something about her makes you keep your eyes slightly above her collar bone at all times.” describing Yuuko, because if that isn’t how Yuki would view Yuuko, I read the wrong manga for them both. And the last drabbles is sheer genius. Because I said so.
Multiple drabbles, complete.

Dangerous
Characters/Pairings: Kind of D/Leon, though not strongly.
Warnings: None
Summary: What happens when a mob boss becomes interested in Count D and warns Leon to stay away from him. Also known as lesson number 3248 in why you do not piss off D.
Comments: There are not enough decent PSoH fanfiction, but this is one that I’ve retained a lingering fondness for. It does a good job of capturing the D/Leon dynamic in a way that I like.
One-shot, complete.

Welcome Gift
Pairings: None
Warnings: None
Summary: When Count D moves to Tokyo, Yuuko sends him a welcome gift.
Comments: My brain exploded with the possibilities of this fic. Yuuko and D would be absolutely fascinating together, in a dangerous sort of way. And I liked Watanuki’s reaction to meeting D.
Notes: I hope I’m finally over my boredom with fics. There’s a couple I plan on going back and reccing. I want more good Tsubasa fics though, dammit. *weeps*
One-shot, complete.

Crossovers, Prince of Tennis, Petshop of HorrorsMarch 20, 2005 10:01 am

Wild
Pairings: Slight Tezuka/Ryoma
Warnings: None
Summary: Tezuka has secrets, secrets that can only be seen by Count D.
Comments: This is fascinating. I really enjoyed seeing Fuji genuinely weirded out. And Tezuka’s secret is interesting, and I loved what she did with Ryoma. And I enjoyed Yukimura’s cameo.
One-shot, complete.

Crossovers, Fruits Basket, Petshop of HorrorsMarch 10, 2005 11:59 am

Long Denied
Pairings: D/Leon, Shigure/Akito, Kyou/Yuki, Kyou/Tohru, Yuki/Tohru, Kyou/Kagura, Jill/Mime, Hatori/Ayame and I think that’s all.
Warnings: Yaoi and yuri.
Spoilers: For end of Petshop of Horrors.
Summary: Everyone knows that the Souma family has many secrets, but even the Souma members themselves don’t know how deeply their secrets go, nor how the mysterious Count D and his family is involved.
COmments: I love this fanfic. A long, plotful believable crossover fanfic is rarer than gold. Not as valuable, but still rare. When I started reading it, my first reaction to the basic idea was “Why hasn’t anyone written a fanfic about Count D and Souma family before? It’s perfect.” There are some things that bothered me, I admit. I’m not fond of how the author felt the need to make more cross-connections between the series than the basic “Count D is somehow involved in the curse”. Ayame being Leon’s penpal stretched my belief. Tohru’s connection to Count D (which I won’t tell for fear of spoilers) broke my belief. The ending itself felt…I’m thinking anti-climactic, but that really isn’t it. I just have no idea what I’m trying to say.

On the other hand, the author is a good, solid writer, who is willing to take the time to justify her deviations from canon until, while I may not agree with it, but I can see where you could make a case for it being possible from canon. That, for itself, counts for a lot with me. The character interactions are well done, and she makes Shigure/Akito believable to me (I tend to go back and forth on whether I like that pairing. Give me a Mabudachi threesome any day. XD). THe plot itself is fascinating and the way the series are really interwoven mostly believably is rare and wonderful.
Multi-chapter, complete.
