Hiatus

Due to work deadlines and stress, Faineant will be on hiatus until at least next Monday. Possibly longer, depending on whether I manage to meet my deadline or not. Sorry.

Edited Monday: Sorry, it’ll be a few more days. I’m right in the last stages of a project I’ve been working on for over a year now, so basically my mind’s being eaten by it. Also, I have a surprise for Faineant that I’ll (hopefully) be unveiling when the hiatus breaks. Assuming nothing goes wrong. (Which considering how my day went today, don’t get your hopes up. Because I love fics that make me go “OH MY GOD MY BRAIN IS DRIBBLING OUT MY EARS WHY GOD WHY”. And also because I love anyone who uses obscure scientific facts in creative ways.

Comments: It’s usually really hard to get my attention with an action scene. I am completely incapable of getting mental images from scenes, and generally, most attempts fail utterly. But this just works. There’s a couple of touches to Axel’s characterization that I really enjoyed, but for the most part, it’s honestly just a well-written action scene that for once, I enjoyed. I’m still a bit weired out by that, actually.

Comments: Okay, this is the sort of thing that just has the potential to be really good, or really, really bad. But this just absolutely sparkles. The dialogue is perfect. The hints of the larger Bleach universe appeal to my world-building side. And Rukia’s and Renji’s interactions are just perfect.

But I don’t knowif it’s because I’m desperately craving Sora/Kairi/Riku, or the author did a better job of usual at making it not quite so disjointed as usual, but I really enjoyed this. The author did a really nice job of portraying their relationship. And I loved the one where Riku was sick, because, just YES. And also, it’s adorable.

Comments: This is just cute and adorable. And funny. And I loved the way that even though it was technically a Riku/Sora fic, the trio’s friendship was the strongest aspect of the fic. It’s more than a little threesome-y without actually being a threesome, and I just loved the way the author handled that. Because a lot of my problems with a lot of my OT3s is that pairing up people within the threesome usually neglects the third person. (It’s why I’m not particularly fond of Naruto/Sakura or Naruto/Sasuke or Sakura/Sasuke by itself. I’d like any of them if they didn’t neglect the third. But. 99% of the fics I run across do that.) And the parents being parents in this was just a very very nice touch.
